Attempting to Stem the Flow
August 7, 2025
• The Stormwater Bylaw Working Group presented its plan to reduce flooding to town officials and residents, who shared their thoughts on the suggestions.
In recent years, there have been several storms that have produced more water than the aging infrastructure of the town can handle effectively. While plans for improving the stormwater system have been evolving, and work by the Department of Public Works has been making inroads, the town’s regulations have struggled to keep up with the rapid development and growth of the town. The Stormwater By-Law Working Group has pulled together some changes they have researched and would like to propose. They held a public session on Aug. 5 to share them with the community and garner feedback before bringing them to the Town Meeting floor this October.
