Trivia Bee Returns, Bringing Fun Times and Learning Back Together

March 23, 2026
• The Needham Education Foundation presented their annual Trivia Bee at Needham High School.

A tradition that goes back a few decades when it was a Spelling Bee, the Needham Education Foundation’s annual event became the Trivia Bee in 2021 and was once again hosted by Needham Channel alum, Mike “Sarge” Riley. 48 teams and over 350 people participated, with all the proceeds going to the NEF’s mission to promote innovation and excellence for Needham Public School students.

The Bee consists of five questions in five different rounds, a total of 25 questions, with topics ranging from Science to Entertainment to Sports and even questions about the Town of Needham. Our cameras were rolling and we’ll have a full broadcast which will debut in April on The Needham Channel, as well as streaming at needhamchannel.org. Until then, here are a few highlights from the event:

The highlights above ran as part of the Needham Channel News, a weekly newscast airing on The Needham Channel every Thursday at 7:30pm. The Needham Channel News can be found on the Community Channel: Comcast 9, Astound 15 and Verizon 29. Most Thursdays it also can be viewed on our HD Channel on Verizon 2129, Astound 613 and streaming on this site.
