• In his own words, Needham’s new Economic Development Director speaks about pulling together the pieces for the town’s businesses.
Growing new businesses can be a challenge, but the economic vitality of the town relies as heavily on Needham’s commercial sector as it does its homeowners. Enhancing the local economy is not only instrumental in reducing the tax burden on Needham residents, but it creates a vibrant community, as well. John Sisson has been making the rounds to Needham shops and organizations, looking to find ways to streamline town processes, navigate relationships, and learn what could help the community attract new opportunities.
The town of Needham recently selected Sisson as their new economic development Director. He has an accomplished decades-long career in the field. He was the Economic Development Director and the Community Development Director for the town of Dedham until 2022. Most recently, he served as the Economic Development Director for the town of Newton before coming to Needham. We sat down with John Sisson to discuss how he is adjusting to his new role and what he hopes to accomplish while here.
