
Dry Conditions Prompt Red Flag Warning

• We spoke with Chief Conroy from the Needham Fire Department about the high risk of wildfires.
The long stretch of dry weather has placed the region in a late-year drought, and has dramatically increased the chance of wildfires. While Needham has been largely spared to date, the Needham Fire Department has been kept busy assisting calls in other communities in the region. The area has recently adopted a red-flag warning, an action that prohibits outdoor fires. We spoke with Chief Tom Conroy about the Department’s recent activities.
