NHS Softball Gets New Diamond

• Even before the first pitch is thrown, the Needham High School varsity girls softball team have come out winners. The renovated McLeod Field is set to give the Rockets new amenities, and a proper setting for their games.

Years after the town first started scaling up its sports facilities, the Needham High School softball team is getting ready to move to a new home. A collaborative effort of the Parks and Forestry Division of the DPW and the Needham Park and Recreation Commission have created a new setting for one of the town’s diamonds. McLeod Field is about ready to open, but, before it does, Sports Producer Kristen Connors got a sneak peek down at DeFazio Park, and spoke with the people who made it happen.
