Rockets Select Softball 10U Navy Team Finishes Perfect Run

July 2, 2026
• The team went undefeated in a pair of tournaments, outscoring their opponents by a huge margin.

One of the keys to building a successful high school varsity program is to develop players via youth programs . This spring, the Rockets Select Softball 10u Navy team may have given a glimpse of the future of Needham Rockets softball, thanks to an undefeated run in two different tournaments where they dominated the competition.

At Rhode Island’s School’s Out Tournament, as well as Natick’s Power at the Plate, the girls finished 11-0, scoring 90 runs, only allowing eleven and shutting out their opponents five times.  The most lopsided win was in Rhode Island, a 13-0 win, but they also had a pair of 12-0 victories in Natick, including one over rival Wellesley.

According to their page on needhambaseball.com, Rockets Select Softball is: “Needham’s premier travel program, designed for the most competitive softball players seeking the highest level of player development.” The head coach of the 10u Navy team is Ross Godin, with assistants Mike Miller and Josh Levine.

Needham Local and The Needham Channel would like to congratulate the girls on their accomplishment and we hope to see you at McLeod Field in a few years!
