Fireworks and Festivities for 250th Celebration

• The semiquincentennial brought out lots of red, white and blue in Needham.

As one Needhamite recently put it, “There is no place better than Needham on the Fourth of July.” As neighbors flocked curbside to watch the town’s annual Fourth of July parade, the sentiment seemed to ring true.

The Needham Channel captured the time-honored tradition — organized by the Needham Exchange Club — on the nation’s 250th birthday during a live broadcast, including the full procession of floats and interviews with Grand Marshal Sunita Williams and local officials. Emergency vehicles, historic reenactors, Needham organizations and others appeared along the parade route. Our Programming Manager Mike Levin and board member Vipul Bhushan took photos as the procession reached the TNC broadcast tent outside the Needham Free Public Library. Here are some of those photos:
