School Auditorium Project’s Dramatic First Act

• With a lot of pressure from the arts community to update and upgrade the school’s performance spaces, the town is scrambling to make the first phase of the project financially feasible.
The Town of Needham has been engaged in discussions throughout the month of January, as it pulls together its draft of the 2025 budget. Part of those discussions involve determining which capital projects to pursue, and which one get put off for another year. With a very long “to do” list on hand, the it was looking as if the anticipated funding for work on the Newman School auditorium might have to be postponed. But the town is looking for ways to keep the renovation center-stage. Municipal Producer Yuxiao Yuan explains.
