High Rock School Earns Recognition
October 31, 2025
• The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) named one of Needham schools a School of Recognition.
At the end of September, the High Rock school was named a School of Recognition by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. It was one of 61 schools across the Commonwealth being singled out for its progress on achieving its annual goals on accountability, especially in the areas of English and math. While discussing the district’s MCAS results, the School Committee had a chance to hear about the designation, its meaning and the distinction with which it carries. Principal Jessica Downey explained that the honor represents not a singular achievement, but an approach embedded into the school’s culture on an ongoing basis.
