Plans for Pollard Proceed in Hopes of MSBA Support
September 4, 2025
• Even as seven possible configurations continue to be discussed within the town, Needham has submitted preliminary designs to the state in order to meet funding deadlines.
There are many unknowns that are outstanding on the project seeking to bring new life to the Pollard Middle School. The scope, configuration and even the location are still under consideration throughout the fall. With proposed costs estimated at over $313 million, funding assistance from the state will be a strong motivational factor. Last week, the School Department and the Permanent Public Building Committee submitted a Preliminary Design Program to the Massachusetts School Building Authority to get a clearer idea of what help they may be willing to provide. Municipal Producer Yuxiao Yuan reviews what has been done so far, and what will be decided over the next three months.
