Schools Look to Tighten Budget
January 9, 2025
• Ahead of a public hearing on the FY 26 budget planned for Jan. 14, the Needham Public Schools are looking to decrease the bottom line by $2.5 million.
When Superintendent Dan Gutekanst presented his initial plan for the FY 26 budget, the outlook was that revenues would allow for growth and development in key areas. This has left administration looking for ways to pare down their expectations for the upcoming year. As he reported to the school committee at their meeting Jan. 7, the decisions they have to make are not easy ones.
