‘Large House’ Committee Narrows Focus
January 9, 2025
• In their first few meetings, members of the Large House Review Study Committee debated what issues to focus on.
This not the first time town residents and officials have attempted to address the perception that Needham is being overdeveloped. Previous zoning changes have attempted to balance the need for down growth against a change in the town’s character. These efforts have met with a lot of criticism from those on both sides of the issue. Indeed, the Large House Review Study Committee has a huge task ahead of them as they hope to deter the development of oversized homes and address the loss of starter homes in Needham. Municipal Producer Yuxiao Yuan catches us up on their efforts thus far as they race against the tight deadline set by Needham’s Town Meeting.
