National Hispanic Heritage Month in Needham

• In the final days of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we wondered how the event came to be recognized by the Town and what it means to its residents.
Time moves by so quickly. Every once in a while you have to take a moment and take a look at the big picture. One of the ways society tries to direct your attention is through the celebration of commemorative days, weeks, and months. But with so many different causes and campaigns, how does that happen? The Town of Needham is just wrapping up National Hispanic Heritage Month, so we spoke with the people who called attention to the annual event, and made it a local one.
