What Makes This Flower So Special?

• Annually, the Needham History Center and Museum takes a day to celebrate a delicate flower known as the Giant Swiss Pansy. Here’s why.
Spring is a time when people start spending more time outdoors. They start work on the landscaping and decorating around their homes and businesses and nature plays a larger role as flowers and bushes bloom. In Needham, one particular plant has been a focal point for generations: the Giant Swiss Pansy. It’s story has deep roots in the town, leading it to become Needham’s official flower.
