Acting Locally to Prevent Elder Abuse
July 20, 2023
• Experts explain how to prevent elder abuse, how to spot the signs in order to stop any abuse, and the importance of reporting it.
Abuse happens in every community, and to people of all ages. One of the segments of our population where it is hard to get a handle on the problem is with our senior citizens. Fortunately, there are people who are on the lookout for the signs, and have the resources to help. However, they can not do it alone. Everyone has to be on the lookout for the elders in their lives, and be vigilant in their advocacy for them. Yuxiao Yuan takes a look at the issue with representatives of the Needham Council on Aging and Hebrew Senior Life.
You can find out more about Hebrew Senior Life’s Elder Abuse Prevention program on their website.
