A Free Tree Program with Strong Roots

• Having trees in or near your property can have multiple benefits. Needham Parks and Forestry makes planting trees easy and free for residents.
In recent years, the town of Needham has been losing trees for a multitude of reasons: Age, weather, disease, infestation and development are all contributing factors. Everyone can have a hand in beautifying their streets and making the community more green. A long-standing program plays match-maker between property-owners and trees, lining up the right planting for the right location, and it is a free service being offered by the town. Yuxiao Yuan reports on this little-known endeavor that can cast some shade in a very positive way.
