Library Gets Egged (in a GOOD way!)
March 9, 2023
• Representatives from the Natick Community Organic Farm brought some chickens to the Needham Free Public Library to help teach kids about the interesting farm fowl. The children’s section of the library will also be home to some incubating eggs until the chicks hatch.
In cities and most suburbs, most people don’t give much thought to chickens beyond…well, what goes best with them. But there is a lot that goes into the care of these birds, and there is a lot more that is fascinating about these creatures than can be expressed in just culinary interest. The kids in the Needham Public Library Children’s Department had a chance to learn about that recently when the Natick Community Organic Farm dropped by. And for the next few weeks more than a few new ideas will be hatched if you want to visit!
