Grant Helps Community Farm Grow During Winter
Thanks to a grant through the Community Preservation Act, the Needham Community Farm could build additional raised beds to provide more opportunities for locals to grow their own food.
Aired December 15, 2022.
For some, this may not be the time of year when you think of gardening. Most of the beds have been prepared for the winter, and the ground will sit dormant until the last of the frost is gone. The story is a little different at the Needham Community Farm, however. This particular time may be the one where they see the most growth, thanks to some innovative proposals. And just as in farming, the seeds of these changes were planted a while ago.
