• Here’s everything you need to know about the 2026 spring postseason.  (Updated on May 28 at 3 p.m.)

This spring, four of the five Needham teams we covered will likely qualify for the postseason. Both tennis teams also earned high seeds in their tournaments.

Girls lacrosse earned the 24 seed in their tournament after finishing the regular season 6-12 under new head coach Gianna Cottrell. They went on the road to face No. 9 Lincoln-Sudbury in the first round on Wednesday, May 27, and lost 13-7.

Boys tennis hosted No. 26 Natick in the first round on Wednesday, May 27, and defeated the Redhawks 4-1, after their 15-3 regular season earned them the seventh seed. Girls tennis finished their regular season undefeated, 15-0, and as the sixth seed they await the winner of No. 27 Plymouth North vs. No. 38 Springfield Central. That matchup will be played on Thursday, May 28, at 4:15 p.m.

No. 1 boys volleyball will host the winner of No. 32 Quincy vs. No. 33 Shrewsbury. That game will be played Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m.

Baseball did not make the postseason for the second straight year.

Softball will host No. 22 Methuen on Monday, June 1, at 4:30 p.m. The Needham Channel will have a live broadcast of that game on our Youtube channel.

No. 15 boys lacrosse will host No. 18 Newton South on Friday, May 29, at 4 p.m.
