Football Receives Big Postseason Honors

• Accolades keep rolling in even after Needham lost in the State Championship.
When Needham Football lost 14-7 to Xaverian in the MIAA Division 1 State Championship game at Gillette Stadium, you would think that would be the end of the line for the 2024 season. However, the Rockets received a few big awards this week, with Senior Running Back Aidan Williams being named both the Bay State Conference MVP, as well as the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year. In addition, Head Coach Doug Kopcso was named the New England Patriots High School Football Coach of the Year as a legend of Patriots teams of old, Andre Tippett, presented Kopcso with the award and $2,000 for the Needham Football program.
