Zoning Secures Select Board Support

• The Planning Board came to the table with the final articles addressing the controversial MBTA Communities Law. They hoped to gain Select Board support…but there were questions.
The final push is underway as the town prepares to convene a Special Town Meeting on October 21st. Discussion on four Zoning articles will likely dominate the session, centered on the zoning overlay districts drafted in the wake of the MBTA Communities Law. Culminating over a year of study and debate, two approaches will be proposed to the town, one more conservative, one more progressive. Yuxiao Yuan looks at the Select Board’s reaction and explains why the community still has cause for discussion.
