Tenants Share Thoughts on Linden/Chambers Redevelopment
September 26, 2024
• The Planning Board held a public hearing on September 24, 2024 to listen to the opinions of current tenants regarding the Linden and Chambers Streets Redevelopment Project.
The Needham Housing Authority is narrowing down on its vision of what it would like to see happen at its Linden/Chambers site. It is an ambitious plan, seeking to replace the aging buildings with a whole new complex that would allow for more housing to a greater array of people. However, even as they lock in on the first part of the project, resistance from some of the existing tenants, and concerns from some of the neighbors were heard at the Planning Board’s site plan review. As they try to package the project to qualify for assisting funding, the clock is ticking to address any outstanding questions.
