
Town Seeks to Boost “Community Connections”

• The Town of Needham created two new positions to make accessing resources easier for community members.
When new funds come into the community, the town works to find a cause that will be both appropriate and meet an outstanding need. When Boston Children’s Hospital announced plans to come into Needham, the opportunity arose to create a program that would seek to connect residents with the resources they need to ease the mental, emotional and logistical burdens they are facing in their everyday lives. The outreach effort, managed through Needham Youth and Family Services, would require the addition of new staff, and the cooperation of several town and community agencies.
