A Day that Keeps Going (and Growing)
May 2, 2024
• Needham Parks & Forestry collaborated with Eversource, Asplundh, and students from multiple school to plant trees across town.
For most communities, Arbor Day is a flash in the pan. It’s a day that comes and goes with a few events, mostly tied to or even overshadowed by its proximity to Earth Day celebrations. In Needham, however, there has been a lot of growth around Arbor Day in its own right. In fact, too much to contain within a single day. We caught up with the Needham Parks and Forestry Division as they worked on just one of the projects they are undertaking in the name of Arbor Day this year, to find out what their motivation is to keep the holiday going strong.
