School Launches ‘Sunita Williams Day’
May 25, 2023
• Astronaut Sunita Williams stopped by the Needham, MA elementary school to recognize the first ever Sunita Williams Day.
In the four years since the building has dedicated, students of Sunita Williams Elementary have been closely watching the career of the astronaut who lends her name to the school. On Monday, May 22nd, many of those students saw her in person for the first time, as they welcomed her for the first Sunita Williams Day. As Kathryn Brodie reports, the event was a thrill for all who attended–including the honoree herself!
