Rethinking Success Community Discussion Group

Rethinking Success? was conceived by a group of parents, educators, healthcare providers, and community advocates. We are concerned with the 2021 Metrowest Adolescents Health Survey Mental Health data and are working together to identify ways to address youth mental health and offer support to families in Needham
October 20 – Finding your family’s path in a culture of comparison and socialmedia: Youth sports, Instagram-worthy vacations, themed parties… How do we choose what matters to us? How do we support our children as they navigate a culture of comparison?
November 17 – Dopamine and Being Overstimulated: How do we learn to wait when everything is available instantly? How are we making choices? We will talk about instant vs. intentional and raising kids in a highly stimulated world.
January 19 – Should we rethink success? Tired of contradictory parenting and education advice? Join us as we rethink “success” through the lens of youth mental health and learn how to trade anxiety for balance.
March 16 – Growing up in an affluent town: How do we help our kids thrive without feeling crushed by the pressure to excel? What are some ways we can balance our high expectations with unconditional support at home?
