Developers Eager to Advance West Street Project
October 9, 2025
• After a warm reception by the Planning Board and demonstrating a willingness to work with neighbors to address concerns, developers are one step closer to moving forward.
Addressing the Planning Board on Oct. 7, representatives of Greystar Development East, LLC were hoping to secure the board’s approval on their plan to raze the existing building at 100-110 West Street, the former site of Avery Manor and Avery Crossings, to construct 189 apartments on the site. Since the hearing was opened in September, they modified their plans and clarified their strategies for mitigating some of the nuisances that come with large construction projects, including pest control, traffic and noise.
Despite a disagreement on the best way to proceed, the board was able to close the public hearing pending comments from the engineering department. Municipal Producer Yuxiao Yuan catches up on the project.
