The Push for Pollard Continues
October 2, 2025
• A joint session of several boards and committees continued a series of events geared toward unifying the town behind a common vision for the future.
It is going to be a big fall for the Pollard Middle School. With a major construction project on the horizon, many options are being discussed that address different needs and different communities which would be affected. While the scope and location of the project are still up in the air, seven alternatives for the school’s next chapter are actively being pursued.
On Sept. 25, town officials from several stake-holding boards and committees met to see if some of those options could be eliminated. By concentrating the field being studied, they hope to meet project deadlines and maintain the pace necessary to apply for funding from the Massachusetts School Building Authority. With a series of possibilities, however, it may prove to be too soon to find common ground.
A sustainability workshop on the project is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16, with a larger community meeting planned for Thursday, Nov. 6.
