The Giant Swiss Pansy is having a bit of a moment in Needham. In a year that saw the unveiling of a painted mural in the Heights, and recognition through the Needham Revitaliztion Trust Fund’s “From Needham to the World” series, this early bloomer is enjoying its moment in the sun. But celebrating the flower is not new to the town. In fact for the past 41 years, the Needham History Center and Museum has been making a pretty big deal over this little giant. We spoke with executive director Gloria Greis to find out more about this plant’s historical roots in Needham.
