New Rules for Solar Proposed

• To reduce its carbon footprint, the Town of Needham is generating a bylaw proposal to encourage residents and businesses to install solar panels.
In a little over a week, a public hearing will be held to review and get public input on proposed bylaw changes that seek to set formal rules for the installation of solar powered systems across Needham. It seems like it has been a long time in coming, and an even longer time in getting here, with lengthy debate and negotiations going into the process through the Planning Board. Now that it is ready for it’s moment in the sun, municipal producer Yuxiao Yuan looks at what is being put in front of Town Meeting this spring.
