• While the sun and above-freezing temperatures whittle away at the snow cover, the sizable winter storm has had a major impact on the Department of Public Works.
One never knows what they are going to get in the winter months of New England. No matter what the almanacs or meteorologists may predict, towns have to change their plans and preparations as each cycle of weather makes its way across the region. With two intense storm systems sandwiching colder-than-normal temperatures, February has been a brutal month for the crew of the Needham Department of Public Works. We checked in with them after the storm had passed to see how they are getting on in recovery efforts, and what the lasting impact of the blizzard may be.
