Abatement Requests Rise After Property Reassessments
February 7, 2025
• Needham property owners saw big changes in their tax bills following a property value reassessment, which has led to a bump in tax abatement requests.
Every five years, property values are required to be reassessed by an outside vendor. Leading into the February 3rd deadline for abatement requests, the town Board of Assessors have seen a dramatic increase in activity. Municipal Producer Yuxiao Yuan spoke with member John Bulian about the phenomenon and what avenues are open for relief.
